When a fellow photographer enquires about booking you for their wedding it is flattering and terrifying in equal measure, so when I received an email from Scott asking if I was available for his Polzeath wedding I was suitably chuffed and nervous!
However, when I met up with Scott and partner Catherine for a coffee to chat through their plans, all of my nerves melted away – they were such a warm and friendly couple and we clicked immediately.
This was my second time as a wedding photographer at The Waterfront, Polzeath. It is a great venue, with a lovely laid-back vibe and beautiful views over Polzeath beach.
Scott and Catherine do not live in Cornwall, but spend as much time in the area as they can. So when the big day arrived in October they had rented a beautiful big house just up the hill from the venue, which is where I met up with them to get some prep shots.
The wedding party headed down to the Waterfront in a gorgeous VW Camper ahead of not one, but two beautiful ceremonies – one with the registrars and then a blessing carried out by a family member.
This wedding was one of the windiest I have ever experienced but it didn’t stop these guys from heading over to the beach for some photographs before cracking on with the celebrations, including hilarious photobooth antics and some of the highest calibre flossing of 2018.
I will leave you with a small selection of highlights from this very special day.
